Why Play Therapy?

Play and creative therapies allow kids of all ages a safer way to express and process difficult emotions in a way that talk therapy alone cannot accomplish.

Of upmost importance is the safe relationship we form in therapeutic arena. As part of the therapy, I look at the child’s creative work and play with a different lens and begin to interpret it as the child’s way of releasing emotions or trying to process things that are difficult for them to express. This helps with expressing difficult emotions, as well as managing their problems such as anxiety, social stress, self-regulation, change/transition, and interpersonal conflict.
